Jax Taylor calls Tom Sandoval his ‘best friend’ amid Brittany Cartwright divorce following rocky friendship

Taylor explained, ‘I have been hanging out with him a little bit more lately. He comes to the bar, he sings karaoke.’

‘You know, he’s on tour right now, but I just hung out with him and his mom and his dad, and it was just great to see him.’

Jax then told his podcast listeners, ‘I love Tom, and I will always love him no matter what he does. He’s my best friend, along with Tom Schwartz. They’re both my best friends.’

He continued, ‘People make mistakes in life, but you gotta move on from it. We all gotta forgive each other at some point.’

The two stars have had a rocky friendship over the years – which has also been seen on the first eight seasons of Bravo’s hit series, Vanderpump Rules.

In late 2020, Taylor announced his exit from the show – as well as Brittany Cartwright at the time.

Last year, Tom was embroiled in a cheating scandal – also known as Scandoval – after he had an affair on then-girlfriend Ariana Madix with co-star Rachel Leviss.

Jax had made previous comments about Sandoval after the scandal came to light and in March 2023, claimed his former castmate cheated on Ariana with more women while stopping by Watch What Happens Live.

Jax – who checked into a mental health facility for 30 days in August – said, ‘Actually, Tom Sandoval has reached out to me more than anybody, and I know people are gonna be shocked by that’; seen in 2016

Jax then told his podcast listeners, ‘I love Tom, and I will always love him no matter what he does. He’s my best friend, along with Tom Schwartz. They’re both my best friends’

A few months later, Taylor slammed Tom for inviting Brittany Cartwright to his gig during the fallout of the affair.

During an episode of The Toast podcast, Jax had told host Claudia Oshry, ‘This is how tone-deaf and selfish [Sandoval] is.’

‘His band was performing in Louisville. He texted Brittany, “Hey, if you have any friends in Louisville, [I would] love to see you. Come [see] my band. I’ll get you free passes.” I looked at the phone. I go … “Are you f*****g serious?”‘

‘I went on my phone, and I go, “Don’t you ever f*****g text my wife again. How dare you,”‘ Taylor recalled.

‘”How selfish and tone-deaf are you? You do realize Brittany is friends with all these girls? What do you think she’s going to do?” It’s like a serial killer who kills their family and then goes out to the bar.’

Jax then accused Sandoval of ‘cheating on every girlfriend he’s had’ and added that Ariana was ‘thriving’ following her split from Tom.

But during Thursday’s episode of his podcast – over one year since the cheating scandal – Jax said of Tom, ‘I can’t even comprehend what he’s gone through.’

‘That Scandoval thing was nationwide. And regardless of how you feel about Tom Sandoval, you gotta remember what he went through.’

Taylor added, ‘He did go through a lot of things. He caused it. He did a very bad thing, but the world just came down on him.’

Earlier this year in March, Jax explained to Us Weekly that he, ‘did not go after Tom Sandoval about cheating.’

‘That had nothing to do with it…Everybody on the show has cheated. My anger issue was how Sandoval handled it afterward. He didn’t stay here. He didn’t take the bullets.’

Also on Thursday, Jax notably refiled from divorce from his estranged wife Brittany Cartwright.

The TV personality hired the attorney of Kevin Federline, Britney Spears’ ex-husband, amid their divorce proceedings – after Cartwright first filed for divorce back in August.

He countered with his own filing requesting a dissolution of marriage, and according to court documents obtained by Us Weekly, Taylor listed Mark Vincent Kaplan as his attorney.

This comes just after Cartwright called him out for the errors he made in his divorce filing without assistance from legal advisors.

Last month, he filed last month while representing himself and mistakenly checked a box indicating that he and Cartwright were never legally married.

The Vanderpump Rules alum also gave an inaccurate timeline of their relationship.

Unlike Cartwright, who listed their date of separation as January 24, 2024, a month before they shared the news publicly, Taylor claimed they didn’t officially call it quits until September 26, 2024.

He also seemed to have erroneously checked a box ‘indicating “other” when it came to determining child support for their son Cruz.’

After fans expressed confusion over the mistakes and discrepancies made by Taylor, Cartwright took to social media to address the errors.

‘We are legally married,’ she wrote in a comment under one of E! News’ Instagram posts. ‘I’m guessing paperwork is hard for some people.’

Taylor’s new attorney representing him in his divorce proceedings previously represented stars including Charlie Sheen and Paula Abdul, in addition to Federline during his custody battle with Spears.

Brittany and Jax began dating in 2015, but two years later – Jax revealed that he had cheated on Cartwright.

However, the pair became engaged in 2018 and tied the knot during a romantic ceremony in June 2019 in Kentucky.

The estranged couple are parents to son Cruz, three – and following their split, Brittany also requested full custody of their little boy.
