Everyone says the same thing as Prince William spotted whizzing round on electric scooter
Prince William sparked a fan frenzy after he was spotted riding his electric scooter around the Windsor Estate.
The Prince of Wales oozed cool as he was spotted whizzing around Windsor Castle on Thursday, July 4, on an electric scooter and royal fans could not contain their excitement.
In a video posted on TikTok, Prince William can be seen riding the 10mph two-wheeler as he enters the castle, wearing a pair of black sunglasses, black trousers, black trainers with a white sole and what looks like a blue jumper on top of a white shirt.
The heir to the throne, in line with his eco-friendly approach, is said to regularly use the scooter for his trips between Windsor Castle and his home, Adelaide Cottage.
A source told the Sun: “It just makes sense. He whizzes up to the castle when he needs to see the King.
“It’s a two or three-mile round trip from his family home at Adelaide Cottage to Windsor Castle so it’s easier by scooter than car or walking.”
Royal fans were jubilant about the future King’s eco-friendly travel behaviour and took to social media to praise him.
One user wrote on X: “F******* coolest dude/prince ever.. hope this continues well into his reign. So sorry about your elections.. from an outsider looking in, absolutely shocking.”
Another one said: “[laughing emoji]Go Wills!”
A third one commented: “He is so normal [heart emoji]”
Lastly, a fourth one chimed: “Love this! as I was on a bouncy castle yesterday, school sports day I was not missing out.”
Electric scooters have become increasingly popular in recent years, with some selling online for as little as £20, but others can cost up to £6,000.
In the UK, it is illegal to use private e-scooters on public roads – unless using rentals as part of a national trial scheme – but they are fine to use on private land with the permission of the land owner, just like William was doing.
Those who ride them illegally could face a £300 fine, six points on their driving licence, being charged with a criminal offence and having their vehicles seized.
The Prince of Wales’s scooter’s make and model are not known.
His grandmother, the late Queen Elizabeth, was also known to travel around the vast estate on a golf buggy.
Apart from Adelaide Cottage and Windsor Castle, the Windsor Estate includes Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s former UK home, Frogmore Cottage, the Duke of York’s residence, Royal Lodge, and the Duke and Duchess of Edinburgh’s home, Bagshot Park.
