Vanderpump Rules

Lisa Vanderpump Quoted in New Episode of The Boys

There are a special few people in this world who are just as obsessed with superheroes as they are with Real Housewives. This writer just happens to fall into the middle of that Venn diagram. So, you can only imagine the gasp that happened when Lisa Vanderpump got name-dropped in the latest episode of The Boys.

Yes, the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills exists in The Boys’ universe, and apparently, Ambrosius is a big fan. If you’re not recognizing that name right away, she’s the cephalopod that The Deep (expertly played by Chace Crawford) has been in a relationship with.

Vaught meets Vanderpump

Spoiler alert: In the latest episode, Ambrosius found out that The Deep had also been sleeping with the superintelligent Sister Sage. It’s just one forbidden romance after another for that dude. When The Deep finally got confronted by his tentacled lover, she dropped some of LVP’s wisdom on him.

She remarked, “Sometimes the way you get them is the way you lose them.”

The Deep immediately caught the reference and replied, “Why are you quoting Lisa Vanderpump?”

Of course, LVP famously dropped that little nugget of wisdom to Lala Kent during the Season 9 reunion. Lala was sobbing over her ex-husband, and that was Lisa’s response. She wasn’t wrong, but it didn’t seem to be well-received by Lala at the time.

On The Boys, the relationship between Ambrosius and The Deep was just about as ill-fated as Lala and Randall Emmett’s. A human and an octopus just simply shouldn’t be together. LVP could have warned them.

Also, to add even more fun to this Bravo and The Boys crossover chaos, it’s worth noting that Ambrosius was voiced by Tilda Swinton. The Oscar-winning actress just made headlines for popping up at Luann de Lesseps’ cabaret show. The bottom line is: No matter what you’re watching, you’re always just a few degrees of separation from the Housewives.
