King Charles disappointed at William after he disobeyed a direct order from him taking Kate out

There’s no denying the strength of King Charles and Prince William’s father-son bond, yet their close relationship doesn’t prevent them from having conflicts occasionally.

As indicated by a new book by royal expert Robert Jobson, titled *Catherine the Princess of Wales*, the King and the Prince of Wales, who usually seem to be on the same page, recently had a tense argument regarding the family’s security.

Jobson revealed in the soon-to-be-published biography that Charles raised concerns with William, a seasoned pilot, about his use of a helicopter with Kate Middleton and their three children, Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis.

In light of being diagnosed with cancer, King Charles, perhaps reminded of his own mortality, reiterated his late mother’s concerns. Jobson explained that Queen Elizabeth also previously asked William not to fly with his family by helicopter. A palace aide disclosed that the late Queen was haunted by the death of her flight captain in a 1967 helicopter crash.

When William refused to stop flying with his family, Charles reportedly drew up a waiver for him to sign. According to Jobson’s writing, Charles insisted that William sign a formal document acknowledging the risks involved and taking full responsibility for his actions. Of course, even the possibility of King Harry and Queen Meghan would be of little consolation in the face of an unimaginable tragedy.

Jobson mentions that Middleton is a stabilizing influence on William, particularly when it comes to disagreements between the future King and his father. A source informed Jobson that Kate is the emotionally mature member of their relationship and someone who always tries to see both sides of any dispute.

With so many of its central members sidelined, the royal family is stretching itself thin this summer as vacation schedules pile up, with notable figures like Kate Middleton and Princess Anne temporarily out of action. Insiders say that King Charles seems to be focusing on his public appearances and attempting to put all the drama between Prince Harry and Prince William on hold.

According to *Charles III* author and historian Robert Hardman’s new book *New Lord, New Court: The Inside Story*, the monarch is hurt and struggling due to everything going on behind the gilded gates of Buckingham Palace and across the pond in Montecito. But he believes he has done everything he can to ease the tension and is moving on.

Hardman says he heard from a royal insider that the King is obviously extremely sad about Harry and Meghan but feels a sense of exasperation, believing he has done what he can. Now that he is King, there are many more things to think about. Hardman notes that Charles has tried listening but now simply says, “I want to know nothing about the issue, I’m just going about my day.”

Since Harry and Meghan evacuated from the UK and moved to California, they’ve been at the center of royal drama. This includes their interview with Oprah Winfrey and the couple’s docu-series, which subtly criticizes the firm. When Harry’s memoir *Spare* is added to the mix, it’s been a whirlwind of brothers fighting and contradictory palace and Duke of Sussex stories.

Harry said that he loved his family and was grateful for the chance to see his father after Charles told him that he had cancer. Therefore, despite the King’s exhaustion from the drama, there is evidence that he is able to set it aside to spend quality time with his son.
