Kristen Doute Addresses Controversy Over Boyfriend Luke’s Relationship With Ex Tom Sandoval, Shares “Misconception” as Luke Reacts After Tom Leaked His Text
Kristen Doute addressed her boyfriend Luke’s controversial relationship with her ex-boyfriend Tom Sandoval – who is hated by many fans for his past affair while in a relationship with Ariana Madix. Kristen claimed the “narrative” of their friendship is a “misconception” as Luke reacted.
Last month, Kristen claimed Tom asked to guest star on her and Luke’s podcast to clear his name. Tom then leaked a text message from Luke (with whom he’s friendly), who asked Tom to come on the podcast. Because of this, Luke got heat from Vanderpump Rules fans who are still angry at people willing to be friends with Tom.
On her Balancing Act podcast, Kristen was asked why she allows Luke to be friends with her controversial ex.
“Luke can always do whatever the hell he wants,” said Kristen, via @breakingtherulespodclips on Instagram. “There’s no allowing or not allowing anything. I could tell Luke a preference I have on his friends, or when he goes out, or whatever.”
“And also I think people have this narrative in their head that you and Tom Sandoval are like bosom buddies,” she went on, addressing Luke directly. “I think that that is such a misconception in a narrative that has grown because — when we’ve done the podcast and we have spoken about Vanderpump or when we were doing recaps — you do like to kind of look at both sides of things. And my narrative is a little bit different because of my past with Tom.”
Kristen explained that she doesn’t have “hate in my heart” for Tom. She doesn’t “dislike [him] at all,” and she wants “the best” for him.
“Tom, I’m sure you’re gonna hear this and probably post some more text messages on Instagram, bro. It’s just hard for me to want to hang out with someone who is making such s**tty decisions. But Luke, like I said, Tom’s not your best friend. So how do you feel?”
Luke shared that he’s “had fun” with Tom, and they run into each other “at the bar” more times than they “plan to hang out.”
“We’ve had a good time and he’s been the same person to me,” said Luke. “I’m sorry to all the listeners who want me to judge him based on everything you’ve seen on Vanderpump Rules … I’d say we’re more than cordial. We’re more than acquaintances. Yeah, we’re buddies, for sure.”
But Kristen says it doesn’t “bother” her, as Luke’s not “inviting” Tom to their “house” for a “kumbaya circle” with the three of them.
