Vanderpump Rules fans are slamming Katie Maloney and her new “hideous” merchandise that she recently dropped. She has a collection for her sandwich shop, Something About Her, and her Disrespectfully podcast. Now, Katie has launched some items based on a few of her iconic one-liners but sadly, it appears to have fallen flat. What are fans of the show and Katie saying about her new line? Vanderpump Rules Fans Slam Katie Maloney’s ‘Hideous’ Merch
Katie Maloney is doing whatever she can to live her best life while monetizing at the same time. Vanderpump Rules would have finished filming its season by now. Yet, Season 12 was put on an indefinite hold. Viewers were skeptical if it would even return but there was reassurance that it just needed time. The network felt the cast should take a breather away from ‘Scandoval,’ live their lives, and then regroup with new drama and stories. That being said, everyone is out there, and doing what suits them. For Katie, that means going to concerts, traveling, hosting her podcast, and spending time at Something About Her.
She co-owns the sandwich shop with VPR co-star and close friend, Ariana Madix who has been here, there, and everything since filming Season 11. Before the shop opened, fans wanted to know how they could help the moment ‘Scandoval’ broke. The ladies did a SAH merch drop that garnered $200K in two weeks. With the Disrespectfully pod, Katie and her co-host, VPR alum, Dayna Kathan, launched show merch. That was very well received and now, Katie has her own line but fans are not thrilled.
From shirts to phone cases, they feature caricatures of Katie Maloney and some of her notable sayings such as: “Choke…I Don’t Care.” Unfortunately, fans took to Reddit to slam the line:
- This merch is beyond hideous and any Bravo themed Etsy seller can do better. I like Katie but I would never buy this.
- This is so ugly I’m surprised by how many people are down to buy this 🫣
- This has to be some of the ugliest merch I have ever seen🫣
Pricey & Undesirable
Along with fans thinking it was “hideous,” there was also the subject of pricing. The crewnecks ran around $49 which is not bad for a sweatshirt but the phone case was $28 which really turned followers off. More so, they were exhausted by celebs putting their faces on everything:
- I would never wear d list celeb merch with the person’s face on it no matter how much I love them 😭 the merch needs to pass as normal clothes. If another insane fan who knows the reference sees me in it, we can have a cute hehe haha over it
Others thought that the quality was bad and that Katie Maloney could have done much better:
- Love Katie down, but wtf is this 😭 low effort and bad quality images, girl has the money to pay a decent artist
