Catherine STEALS SPOTLIGHT At Food Bank Visit With William Joke Bring Everyone In Tears of Laughter

It’s a notable development. Royal fans were delighted when Kensington Palace announced that Princess Catherine has resumed her royal duties this week.

The princess has long been admired not just for her royal title but for the grace and dignity with which she carries out her responsibilities. Together with Prince William, the couple often travel the world, engaging in humanitarian work, promoting causes close to their hearts, and building relationships with leaders from various cultures and backgrounds.

Stunned volunteers only found out about the visit one hour before William and Catherine’s arrival, but were later put at ease by the down-to-earth royal pair. While everyone agrees that the Prince and Princess of Wales always draw headlines for their charity and support, one user is making a strong argument for what the duo did wrong, especially as the palace is looking to modernize the monarchy.

The food bank they visited is located at Dewor Green Baptist Church, roughly 10 minutes from Windsor Castle. During their visit, William helped package food deliveries, and Catherine sorted through items, checking their use-by dates.

We now turn to what the princess wore for this engagement. She was in a familiar ensemble of designs by Hobbs London and Jigsaw. We first saw the pieces worn together at a November 2021 school visit. Specifically, the princess brought back the Tilda coat in a color called Granita Pink. The trousers appeared to be navy Jigsaw Sport Luxe trousers, worn on several occasions, and the heels looked like the Josie block heel court shoe in midnight navy suede by Emmy London. The belt is of the UFO navy design worn previously, and she also brought back her Aurelia Chain Huggie hoops.

Some were shocked to discover her as the heir to the throne. The manager, Sarah Keer, joked, “They did alright, one was better than the other, but I won’t say which.” She later said that the pair put them at ease with their natural and down-to-earth manner. At one point, William poked fun at his wife, who was chatting with volunteers, saying, “Excuse me, too much nattering going on over here,” causing the group to laugh.

If there’s one thing Prince Harry’s memoir *Spare* has done, it’s called attention to the endless privilege the royal family enjoys. In a time of recession and cutbacks, it can be hard for some to cheer on a group of people living off taxpayers’ money. One TikTok account, *The Champagne Socialist*, is making a strong argument for what the Waleses did wrong, especially since the palace is aiming to modernize the monarchy.

He criticizes the Waleses for turning up with no food. They put together some food parcels, stayed for 20 minutes, and then drove off in their expensive Land Rover. The account concedes that they could have made a sizable donation off-camera, but there’s no confirmation of that happening. The user was shocked that a PR team would allow this to happen in the first place.

Of course, there’s always a comparison to what Meghan and Prince Harry would have done. But this is about the optics the Wales family is putting out there. The user noted, “Unless Meghan has a few allies in The Firm, he’s spot on, and it’s an argument that shouldn’t just be directed at the royals.”

However, other accounts wrote that these royal visits are more about raising their profiles than raising awareness of the causes. The Prince and Princess of Wales did, however, offer to replace food and other items stolen from St. Thomas Church in Swansea, Wales over the weekend. When asked if the royal couple would make a donation, the Reverend confirmed, “They contacted us earlier to send their love and support. Absolutely, they would love to replace the food that was taken. They want to do so very much.”

But this isn’t about which couple would do a food bank visit better. It’s about King Charles III figuring out how to make the monarchy relevant in the future. A tone-deaf visit from billionaires isn’t it. It’s time for the palace to figure out ways to make their appearances more meaningful beyond just a photo opportunity.
