King Charles release major update on Kate Middleton health condition amid cancer diagnosis

Since announcing that she would be returning to some public duties after completing chemotherapy, Princess Kate has made her first appearance in public.

She was seen attending a Sunday service at Crathie Kirk, a church near the Royal Balmoral estate in Scotland, with her husband, Prince William. In new photographs, the Princess of Wales was caught grinning in the front seat of a vehicle driven by William and joined by a security guard, as they accompanied other members of the royal family, including King Charles III and Queen Camilla.

On Sunday, Prince William and Princess Kate attended the service at Crathie Kirk, located near Balmoral Castle in Aberdeenshire, Scotland. According to *Newsline Media Limited*, Kate announced in a deeply personal video message at the beginning of the month that she had completed treatment for an undisclosed form of cancer, which was discovered following abdominal surgery earlier this year.

In the video, Kate mentioned that her path to recovery is long and added that she would embrace a few additional public commitments in the coming weeks. NBC News Royal correspondent Katie Nicholl stated that Kate is beginning to look more like her old self, but cautioned that her participation at the community gathering doesn’t mean the public will see significantly more of her.

“I think with regards to important events, she will be present,” Nicholl said. “However, her priority, as she has stated, is her health and remaining cancer-free, not a packed schedule of engagements.”

Last week, Kate held her first official engagement since completing treatment. According to *The Royal Circular* (a daily update on royal activities published by *The Times of London*), the Princess of Wales, co-patron of the Royal Foundation of The Prince and Princess of Wales, held an Early Years meeting at Windsor Castle. The Royal Foundation is the primary charitable vehicle for William and Kate, supporting initiatives in early years education, homelessness, and conservation projects.

Kate had previously appeared in public since revealing she was undergoing cancer treatment in the spring, including at *Trooping the Colour*, the annual military parade celebrating the monarch’s birthday. She also attended Wimbledon in July, appearing in the royal box at the men’s final, where she received a thunderous applause.

It was also revealed in February that King Charles himself was undergoing cancer treatment. He, too, has returned to public duties after temporarily scaling back most of his engagements following his diagnosis.

Both Kate’s and Charles’s absences have led to a noticeable shortage of senior royals available to carry out official daily duties, especially since the passing of Queen Elizabeth II, Prince Harry and Meghan’s move to California, and Prince Andrew stepping down from frontline duties.
