The Princess of Wales made her second appearance since she revealed that she had completed her course of chemotherapy.
Princess Kate made a surprise trip to the English National Ballet today in her second appearance since she completed chemotherapy.
Kate, 42, privately attended the English National Ballet’s matinee performance of Giselle at Sadler’s Wells on Thursday afternoon.
No photos of her trip to London have been released, but the princess shared a personal personage on her social media pages expressing how much she enjoyed the performance.
She said: “Congratulations and thank you to the English National Ballet and Sadler’s Wells for the wonderfully powerful, moving and inspiring performance of Akram Khan’s Giselle. Creativity at its best! C.”
Signing off the message with a “C” (for Catherine) indicates that it was a personal message from the senior royal.
It marks Kate’s second appearance since she revealed that she had completed her course of chemotherapy earlier this month.
Her first was on Sunday when she joined her husband the Prince of Wales and the King and Queen at Crathie Church near their Balmoral estate in Scotland.
Kate’s attendance at the ballet yesterday is another reassuring sign that her recovery is going well.
On Tuesday she held a meeting on her annual Christmas carol service, just a week after holding her first one of the year.
She met with aides and members of her Royal Foundation to plan for the key fixture in the royal calendar, which is held at Westminster Abbey and will be broadcast on ITV on Christmas Eve.
The princess is expected to host the service, as she has done in previous years, and is likely to be joined by her husband, children and other members of the royal family.
Kate is expected to join members of the Royal Family at the Cenotaph on November 10 for Remembrance Sunday, though a decision will not be made until nearer the time.
It is hoped that she will return to some in-person royal engagements before the New Year.
In her deeply personal video message earlier this month, Kate said: “I am, however, looking forward to being back at work and undertaking a few more public engagements in the coming months when I can.
“Despite all that has gone before, I enter this new phase of recovery with a renewed sense of hope and appreciation of life.”
