Prince Andrew begging for second chance as King Charles sign new document to evict him from lounge

Prince Andrew’s reluctance to leave **Royal Lodge** is reportedly driven by a desire to avoid the media and public scrutiny, according to royal experts. The Duke of York has been under intense pressure following the scandal surrounding his relationship with **Jeffrey Epstein** and allegations involving **Virginia Roberts Giuffre**, which led to his resignation as a working royal in 2019. Despite this, Andrew has been holding onto his residence at **Royal Lodge** on the **Windsor Estate**, where he has been living for nearly two decades.

According to **Ingrid Seward**, editor-in-chief of **Majesty Magazine**, Andrew’s limited options stem from his need to maintain a low profile. She explained to **Fabulous Magazine** that Andrew “doesn’t want to be photographed and then criticized,” which keeps his world “very narrow.” The ongoing scrutiny surrounding his past has confined him mostly to the grounds of Royal Lodge, where he reportedly hunkers down to avoid public attention.

King **Charles III** has reportedly urged Andrew to move out of the **seven-bedroom mansion** due to the high maintenance costs, estimated to be around **£400,000 per year**, which Andrew is struggling to manage. Additionally, Charles decided not to renew Andrew’s **security detail** at the residence, leading to speculation that the Duke might be moved to **Frogmore Cottage**, the former home of **Prince Harry** and **Meghan Markle**.

Despite these challenges, Andrew has resisted the idea of moving, partly because of his emotional attachment to the property, which he hopes to pass on to his daughters, **Princess Beatrice** and **Princess Eugenie**. Seward noted that the Duke of York finds comfort in regular visits from his daughters and their families, and they make a point to visit him at Royal Lodge, knowing that he is somewhat “stuck” there.

While Andrew holds a **75-year lease** on the property, signed in 2004, this legal arrangement complicates King Charles’ desire to have him vacate the residence. Andrew reportedly intends to keep Royal Lodge as a historic family home, potentially passing it on to his daughters. However, both Beatrice and Eugenie already have homes of their own, with their mother, **Sarah Ferguson**, purchasing a **£4 million** house in **Mayfair** in 2022.

Andrew’s current situation reflects the ongoing fallout from the scandal that forced him to step down from public life. His efforts to maintain privacy and avoid the spotlight have confined him to Royal Lodge, where his family provides support, but his future in the residence remains uncertain.
