Prince William inspired by his mom Diana’s idea to create a foundation for homelessness with Kate

Prince William says, “I have taken some inspiration and guidance from what my mother did,” as he announces a new documentary about homelessness.

In addition to announcing a new ITV documentary about homelessness, the Prince of Wales shared his personal motivation for supporting the cause.

Prince William explains that his mother, Princess Diana, was a part of his motivation in a trailer for the documentary that was shared on social media on Monday, October 14th. As a child, the Prince and his mother went to homeless shelters together. As he got older and became an adult, he continued to get involved with a variety of charities.

Ahead of the new ITV show, **Prince William: Homelessness Can Be Eradicated**, the Prince of Wales says in the trailer, “I’ve slowly tried to work out what I can bring to the role in the platform that I have.” He adds, “I don’t believe we should be living with homelessness in the 21st century.” This statement can be found in the trailer.

Prince William has said that his mother, Princess Diana, gave him inspiration and guidance to work toward ending homelessness. He was also seen hugging people while visiting a homeless charity in a new preview for his forthcoming ITV documentary, **Prince William**.

The following is said: the Prince of Wales shared his campaigns behind-the-scenes journey in **We Can End Homelessness**, his ambitious 5-year initiative program called Homewards. The future King wants to eliminate rough sleeping, sofa surfing, and temporary housing.

William says in the new clip, “I’ve been trying to figure out what I can bring to the position and platform I currently hold. Slowly, I have taken some inspiration and direction from what my mother did, especially when it came to dealing with homelessness.”

William can be seen talking to former English footballer Farah Williams, who was homeless herself, and other Homewards volunteers in the brief Instagram video as he builds on his late mother’s legacy. The Prince of Wales described it as a unique opportunity to effect long-lasting change.

Stories from people who are currently homeless or have been homeless in the past will be included, according to director Leo Burley. “We have spent the past year following Prince William and the Royal Foundation through the Homewards program’s first year, from road vagrancy in Newport to families residing in brief accommodations in Sheffield and youth vagrancy in Aberdeen.

The narrative portrays vagrancy across the UK today, working with many individuals who never expected to encounter existence without a spot to call home. Everybody we’ve recorded with has welcomed the spotlight that Prince William and Homewards are putting on the UK’s vagrancy crisis.

King William has long been passionate about the issue of vagrancy. As a Royal Patron of several charities, he visited one of their shelters with his mom when he was 11. He slept rough for a night in 2009 to understand the plight of the homeless at Christmas, and he has attended his pitch with a Big Issue seller for the past two years.
