Prince William enjoys himself as a Taylor Swift fan with his children and without Kate Middleton

Few plans seem to beat the one Prince William made to celebrate his 42nd birthday. The future monarch of the United Kingdom turned 42 on 21 June and his birthday present was to attend Taylor Swift’s concert in London on her ‘The Eras Tour’. With Kate Middleton still recovering, the King’s guests were his children George, 6, Charlotte, 9, and Louis, 6.

Taylor Swift was welcomed with honours in London by the Royal Guard on Friday 21 June, as the royal band performed ‘Shake It Off’ in front of Buckingham Palace. The Eras Tour will stop in London on the following dates: 21, 22 and 23 June and 15, 16, 17, 19 and 20 August 2024. All concerts will be held at Wembley Stadium. So far, the first one has already been attended by one of the most important people in the UK.

Prince William and Taylor Swift have previously sung in concert together

The story of Prince William and Taylor Swift‘s concerts goes back a long way. This time, the heir to the throne only enjoyed it as a spectator, but years ago he dared to take the stage with the American singer. At a Centrepoint charity event at Kensington Palace, he joined her and Bon Jovi to perform ‘Livin’ on a player’.

This is how the Prince of Wales remembers it more than 11 years after the event: “I was sitting next to Taylor Swift. She’s on my left. And after Jon sang his first song, there was a pause and she turned to me. She put her hand on my arm, looked me in the eye and said, ‘Come on, William. Let’s sing.”

He is not the first member of the Royal Family to attend ‘The Eras Tour’

Before stopping in the UK, Taylor Swift’s tour has already been to the United States. There, at the Los Angeles show, Meghan Markle didn’t want to miss the pop queen’s concert.
