Princess Kate’s appearance at Trooping the Colour sparked a surprising yet hilarious response from some corners of the Internet.
Princess Kate made a welcome return to public life when she was seen at Trooping the Colour on June 15, but one picture of her travelling in the carriage left royal fans in stitches as they claimed they could see ‘Miriam Margolyes’ sitting behind her.
In an image shared in X by Shane Reaction, the reflection of Prince Louis in the window behind her appears to show him with a mop of fluffy grey hair, similar to that of the 83-year-old actress.
The post was captioned: “Can’t stop thinking about the reflection in this picture making it look like Miriam Margolyes has just woken up in the back of Kate Middleton’s carriage.”
Royal fans expressed their delight in the comments, with one saying: “That’s how you know it was a good night out.” Another added: “I can hear her now… ‘sorry I just farted’.”
Another wrote: “This actually made me LOL and I never write LOL.” Meanwhile, a fourth also commented: “I would pay a lot to see the Netflix series based on this tweet.”

Kate’s appearance on the Buckingham Palace balcony at Trooping is the first time she has been seen in public since last Christmas at Sandringham.
In January it was announced she would be taking a break from her royal duties as she recovered from abdominal surgery, then in March she revealed she had been diagnosed with cancer.
The Princess has been undergoing preventative chemotherapy but happily felt well enough to attend the monarch’s official birthday celebrations with the rest of her family.
While Kate is not yet returning to royal duties, fans were thrilled to see her looking so well and dressed so stylishly in monochrome Jenny Packham with Jimmy Choo heels, a Mulberry clutch and matching Philip Treacy hat.
Prior to the event she issued a statement addressing speculation about her return: “I have been blown away by all the kind messages of support and encouragement over the last couple of months. It really has made the world of difference to William and me and has helped us both through some of the harder times.
“I am making good progress, but as anyone going through chemotherapy will know, there are good days and bad days. On those bad days you feel weak, tired and you have to give in to your body resting.

“But on the good days, when you feel stronger, you want to make the most of feeling well. My treatment is ongoing and will be for a few more months.”
While on the balcony Kate was seen gazing adoringly over at Prince William, with body language expert Judi James telling Express.co.uk: “While Kate chatted to the King, William gave his attention to the children in what looked like a pre-planned form of choreography.
“But there was still one moment when William looked at his wife and she beamed a dimpled, wide smile at him.”
In a three-word exchange, the expert noted their eyes appeared to say to each other: “We did it!”
