Princess Kate and King’s cancer has ‘strengthened bond’ between William and Charles

Princess Kate and King Charles’s cancer has strengthened the bond between Prince William and his father, a friend of the royals has claimed.

The Princess of Wales announced in March that she had undergone preventative chemotherapy after cancer was found in tests she underwent following significant abdominal surgery earlier this year.

Kate provided an update on her health condition this month in a statement confirming she would attend Trooping the Colour.

The royal said she was “not out of the woods yet” and has “good days and bad days” as she continues to receive preventative chemotherapy.

Princess Kate and King Charles’s cancer has deepened the bond between Prince William and his father, a friend of the royals has claimed.

Princess Kate has not returned to royal duties and has not given a timeline for when she will resume regular public engagements.

Buckingham Palace announced in February that King Charles had been diagnosed with cancer.

The King took a short break from public engagements but resumed public-facing duties in late April.

2024 has been a hard year for the Prince of Wales with both his wife and father battling cancer.

Princess Kate has not returned to royal duties and has not given a timeline for when she will resume regular public engagements.

However, a friend of the royals has claimed that William and the King have grown closer over the last six months.

The friend told the Mail: “They don’t talk about the past and Charles feels lucky that the two of them can talk about ‘the job’.

“The illnesses have increased the bond between them, but there is also greater tolerance between the two men.”

Despite this, Prince Harry and Prince William’s relationship is unrepairable, a source has claimed.

The brothers have barely spoken over the last 18 months and last saw each other at the Coronation in May 2023.

Prince Harry has travelled to the UK twice in 2024 but did not see the Prince of Wales during either of his trips.

A source told the Mail regarding the relationship between the brothers: “Whatever might happen in the future, the trust that was implicit in his relationship with Harry is gone for good.

“Even if it is possible that some kind of managed reconciliation could be achieved, it will be never anything more than superficial.”

Prince Harry has travelled to the UK twice in 2024 but did not see the Prince of Wales during either of his trips.

The Duke of Sussex’s first visit in February 2024 came after Buckingham Palace announced his father had been diagnosed with cancer.

Prince Harry spent just 45 minutes with King Charles due to the monarch’s busy schedule.
