Prince Louis’s ‘star of the show’ appearance in London offers insight into new royal era

EXCLUSIVE: “Louis is such an important star of the show today and his sweetness and carefree nature feels like a good indication of his home life.”

Everything is better when Prince Louis is around.

All three Wales children are adored by the public and little Louis – the youngest at six years old – helps to bring that extra spark to family events, commentators say.

At one point, it wasn’t clear if Prince George, Princess Charlotte or Louis would be attending Trooping the Colour earlier this month, but the stars aligned as all three arrived by carriage with their mother Princess Kate.

And it’s a sight to get used to – as the trio are expected to feature more and more as the years progress.

To Di For Daily’s Kinsey Schofield, who is based in Los Angeles, traveled to the UK for the big event and reported back to us about how it went.

Schofield said: “It’s not a royal event without Prince Louis.”

She added: “Louis is such an important star of the show today and his sweetness and carefree nature feels like a good indication of his home life.”

Both Prince William and Princess Kate spend a lot of quality time with their children, which is a step away from the royal tradition of relying heavily on nannies.

Trooping the Colour – King’s Birthday Parade – also served as a welcome back party for Kate, who has been on medical leave since February. The Princess is not expected to be returning to regular frontline duties, but may attend some one-off events.

We asked Schofield what the atmosphere in London was like. She said: “There was a significant amount of support for the Prince and Princess of Wales. So much enthusiasm for Catherine’s brief appearance at Trooping the Colour.

“Most people commented on how beautiful the princess looked. They felt like she looked stronger than they had anticipated.”

Kate joined her famliy on the Buckingham Palace balcony for the special occasion.

It was a busy week for the royals, going from Trooping to Garter Day Service to Royal Ascot ending with Taylor Swift.

Schofield added: “Tack on a Taylor Swift concert and everyone was really pleased to see so much of the Wales children, joyful, over the last few weeks.

“Several pleasant surprises.”
