SHOCK! ANOTHER BLOW For Princess Catherine’s Position After King Charles’s HURTFUL Decision

In the glittering world of British royalty, few figures have captured the public’s admiration and affection like the Princess of Wales. Catherine’s appearance at Trooping the Colour this month was met with roaring crowds, marking her first public engagement since her diagnosis. She aimed to show the world that she hadn’t given up, and she did so with the grace and style that have endeared her to millions. The event not only celebrated her return but also symbolized stability within the monarchy, especially after a challenging few months during which both the king and princess had been undergoing cancer treatment.

It’s believed that the Princess of Wales is going to enjoy an entire week of relaxation to contemplate her next public engagement. According to the initial plan, the royals were leaning on some unexpected members of the royal family for a helping hand, including Prince Andrew’s daughter Beatrice. However, Princess Anne’s recent hospitalization due to a head injury means the number of working royals has once again taken a hit.

For now, Beatrice allegedly wants more of Catherine’s royal duties permanently while the princess undergoes cancer treatment, despite not being a working royal herself. However, King Charles has decided not to include both Beatrice and Eugenie as working royals, which reportedly stems from the monarch’s reluctance to deviate from established protocols. This decision has allegedly upset the two princesses, who feel they have a lot to offer.

According to their friends, Beatrice previously felt overjoyed at the opportunity and would love for it to become a permanent situation. The princess is comfortable in the spotlight and would be thrilled to become a working royal. However, it seems unfair that the girls aren’t being used at all, especially when Prince Andrew has been accepted back into the fold. They’ve done nothing wrong and shouldn’t be visited with the sins of their father, but ultimately, it’s not surprising. They are sincere about wanting to serve, but King Charles is just following the rules put in place by his mother.

Working royals are those who spend their time attending royal engagements and are paid by the Sovereign Grant, a taxpayer-funded pool of money that covers royals’ salaries. Beatrice and Eugenie’s bids to be working royals actually go way back to 2016 when it was reported that the Queen decided not to welcome them into the fold, which bitterly divided Prince Andrew and then-Prince Charles. The king is very fond of the York girls, but everyone, including them, accepts there is no place for them to be full-time working royals. As the late Queen Elizabeth made clear, being a part-time working royal isn’t an option.

As for why Beatrice and Eugenie joining the working royal rotation doesn’t make sense, a courtier explains, “With hindsight, you can make the argument that they should have been kept on, but a dramatic change of course now would not be helpful for anyone. The York girls have built successful lives as private individuals. The glaring spotlight will inevitably exacerbate tensions around their work-life balance and boundaries. Beatrice and Eugenie have already thriving careers; adding royal duties to that mix is a serious bandwidth consideration.”

The source adds, “If they continue, Beatrice and Eugenie will look like rookie ambassadors. One slip-up goes globally viral in seconds nowadays.”

Meanwhile, Anne’s head injury and subsequent pause on royal duties is the last thing the royal family needs. The reason is that the number of working royals was already low given the king’s slimmed-down monarchy. The numbers declined when the king and Princess Catherine were diagnosed with an undisclosed type of cancer in February and March of 2024, respectively. As a result, Prince William scaled back his own duties to support the Princess of Wales and their children. Now, Anne’s absence means that just three individuals remain as full-time working royals unaffected by illness. They include Queen Camilla, who does not particularly enjoy public appearances, along with Prince Edward and Sophie, the Duke and Duchess of Edinburgh.
