Kate Middleton exposed Camilla for stealing her necklace gifter to her by queen Elizabeth

King Charles III and Queen Camilla attended a gathering and supper to pay tribute to their coronation at Mansion House on October 18, 2023, in London, England.

The King attended the gathering to maintain the custom of visiting the City of London during the coronation year. The commitment recognizes the work of London institutions and livery companies. After a reduction in royal outings, speculation arose about whether the event would take place. Buckingham Palace announced that the state visit from Japan would take place from June 25 to June 27.

Buckingham Palace declared on June 4 that the King and Queen of Japan will pay a state visit to the UK from June 25 to June 27. Prince Naruhito and Empress Masako will be the guests of King Charles during the state visit to London, hosted by the King and his wife as part of the King’s return to public duties during his cancer treatment. The dates for the forthcoming state visit were previously announced in late April, putting an end to speculation regarding whether the event would take place as planned.

UK Prime Minister Rishi Sunak declared on May 22 that a general election would be held on July 4. Buckingham Palace said the Royals would defer engagements that might seem to divert attention from the election, prompting King Charles and Prince William to cancel booked commitments. Members of the British royal family are naturally non-political and generally avoid the public space during campaigns to keep the public’s attention on the election and its essential issues.

Last week, it was revealed that the Palace was awaiting guidance from the Foreign Office about the Japanese state visit. Welcoming the couple on June 25, the Prince of Wales will greet them on behalf of his father and travel with them to Horse Guards Parade in London for their ceremonial welcome. Prince William also led the royal greeting with his wife, Kate Middleton, in November 2023 for the state visit of South Korean President Yoon Suk-yeol and his wife, First Lady Kim Keon-hee.

Princess Kate has avoided the public eye for most of this year after announcing in March that she has cancer and is undergoing chemotherapy. It is unclear if she will participate in the upcoming state visit. Although Kate usually assists with state visits, she was excluded from the schedule.

King Charles and Queen Camilla will welcome Emperor Naruhito and Empress Masako to Horse Guards Parade with military pomp, and the two couples will travel by carriage along The Mall to Buckingham Palace with Prince William. A lunch will be followed by viewing items from the royal collection related to Japan in the Palace’s Picture Gallery. The Japanese royals will later move to Westminster Abbey, where the Emperor will lay a wreath at the Grave of the Unknown Warrior before visiting the ancient church with his wife.

That evening, King Charles and Queen Camilla will reconvene with the Emperor and Empress of Japan for a state banquet at Buckingham Palace in their honor. Queen Camilla may choose a sparkling headpiece from the royal jewelry collection for the diplomatic dinner, which has a glamorous dress code, as royal women frequently wear tiaras. Other members of the royal family are also expected to attend.

The next day, Emperor Naruhito will pay a solo visit to the Francis Crick Institute, the country’s leading biomedical research center, which supports a partnership between the UK and Japan. Later in June, Prince Edward and Sophie, the Duchess of Edinburgh, will join the Emperor and Empress for a banquet at the Guildhall, organized by the Lord Mayor and the City of London Corporation. The Duke and Duchess of Edinburgh are among the working royals who have continued with a full schedule amid King Charles and Princess Kate’s reduced duties due to their cancer diagnoses.
