Inside the Royal Box at Wimbledon where guests enjoy fine cuisine and chat to celebs

EXCLUSIVE: The Royal Box at Wimbledon is the hottest ticket in town during the tournament, but not everyone will be lucky enough to step inside.

The Royal Box at Wimbledon is where the most prestigious guests at the tennis tournament take their seats, including members of the Royal Family and in particular Princess Kate.

The Princess of Wales is especially invested in the competition as she is patron of the All England Tennis and Croquet Club and traditionally hands out the winners’ trophies.

If she does attend this year, she will be seated in the Royal Box, and anyone else lucky enough to bag themselves a seat there will be treated to the full VIP experience.

Most of the day revolves around tennis and food, with welcome drinks and coffee being served on the balcony before the matches begin alongside luxury chocolates.

Photographs may be taken in the Royal Box but only before other guests arrive, so sadly there are few opportunities to get a selfie with Kate.

For lunch, guests can expect the very best spread of hot and cold dishes, from lobster tail and luxury cuts of meat and seafood such as Halibut.

Strawberries and cream are then served for dessert (what else?), although there is also the option to tuck into some Peach crémeux and a selection of cheeses.

Afternoon tea is taken on the balcony before guests return to watch the rest of the tennis, with celebrities such as Bear Grylls, David Beckham and Carole and Michael Middleton already being spotted in the Royal Box this year.

Meghan Markle, who was nearby, appeared to tilt her head and smile sympathetically at Charlotte. The episode seemed to draw the ire of their grandmother, Queen Camilla, who looked displeased, gestured at Charlotte, and then whispered to her mum Catherine, the Princess of Wales: “Take her.”

Other lip-readers, as mentioned in The Sun, noted that throughout the day, Charlotte seemed to be offering guidance to her brother, as noticed by observant Royal enthusiasts. At one juncture, Charlotte is believed to have advised George, with lip-readers interpreting her silent instruction as: “You need to bow,” reports the Mirror.

Prince George, attired in a dark suit and tie, seemed to acknowledge his sister’s reminder about the expectations of Royal etiquette. The live TV moment where Prince George and Princess Charlotte seemed to have a “disagreement” didn’t go unnoticed, with one viewer tweeting: “Looks like Prince George and Princess Charlotte have a small disagreement. Look at The Queen Consort, Camilla

Another chimed in with: “What did Charlotte say when she turned back around? Was it wow? Ow? Cow?”

In a contrasting display of Royal poise, Queen Camilla was seen comforting Princess Charlotte after the young Royal stumbled during a curtsy to King Charles last May. At the coronation concert, the Wales family were seen greeting the King and Queen with the traditional bows and curtsies.

However, Charlotte , following her mother’s example, slightly lost her balance after curtsying to the King. She looked to her father and brother as she steadied herself.

Despite missing out on a curtsy from Princess Charlotte, Queen Camilla caught the moment and discreetly comforted her step-granddaughter with a gentle pat on the shoulder as she walked by.
