Prince William Unexpectedly Shares His EMOTIONAL VISIT With George, Charlotte And Louis

According to the latest news close to the Wales family, the Prince of Wales reportedly is poised to visit a homelessness center with his children, Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis. This move echoes his own visits to homeless shelters as a child with his mother, Princess Diana. It’s a cause incredibly close to the royal’s heart. Back in June, William launched a five-year program to tackle homelessness across the UK. It strives to form locally-led coalitions of committed individuals, organizations, and businesses who intend to work together to prevent and ultimately end homelessness in their local area. Beyond this, William is also set to appear in a new ITV documentary that aims to change perceptions around homelessness.

The future king said that his interest in homelessness started off with “a visit to The Passage with my mother a long time ago.” Princess Diana loved her boys very much, and after her tragic passing in 1997, Princes Harry and William didn’t walk away empty-handed, only brokenhearted. The two immediately received most of her 13 million pound fortune as well as many pieces from her exquisite jewelry collection. Both have gone to great lengths to preserve their mother’s memory and carry on her legacy in the decades since her death.

There are many ways that Princess Diana has influenced both Prince William’s approach to royal duty and his informal parenting style. From sweet traditions she began that Prince William continues with his own three children, including one really noisy birthday tradition, to the love for charity work she instilled in both him and Prince Harry.

Princess Diana was brought up at Althorp in Northamptonshire. She lived there until she was married to King Charles in 1981. The vast estate is where she grew up, spent many happy years, and is her final resting place. However, thanks to a century-old rule, the home won’t be passed down to her sons. Although they are half Spencer by blood, they will not gain control of the Althorp House. Instead, Althorp House will go to Louis Spencer, Viscount Althorp, Diana’s nephew. Charles Spencer’s only son will inherit Althorp House due to a centuries-old system of male primogeniture that makes him, not his three older sisters, heir to the estate and earldom.

Therefore, Prince William and Prince Harry will not inherit the estate where their mother has been laid to rest; their cousin will take control upon the death of the Ninth Earl Spencer, Charles. Kitty Spencer, Louis’s older sister, opened up about the home and her brother’s inheritance. She and her siblings, Amelia and Eliza, grew up knowing Louis would inherit the property. “Primogeniture can be a tricky topic because as times are changing, attitudes are as well. We’ve grown up and understand that it’s Louis to inherit, and Louis will do an incredible job.”

Althorp House holds significant sentimental value for both Prince William and Prince Harry. Now, her childhood home has been open for visitation throughout July and August. Boasting a main house with 90 rooms spread across 100,000 square feet, the property also includes a portrait gallery, lake, and nearly 30 subsidiary listed structures that span farming, forestry, and field sports businesses. However, most visitors to the storied home are most interested in the ornamental lake, in the middle of which lies an island where Princess Diana’s remains are buried.

The former Princess of Wales was laid to rest there due to concerns about the safety of her remains, says her brother, Charles Spencer. Other family members are buried at Great Brington at St Mary’s Virgin Church. There was once a walkway from the land to the island; however, after Diana’s remains were laid to rest, that walkway was deconstructed to prevent anyone from accessing her grave site. Princess Diana’s burial site is not open to the public, but visitors can pay tribute to a memorial built on Althorp’s grounds.
