Princess Anne Unexpectedly BREAKS SILENCE About Prince William As TKing Gives Up Throne

If there’s one thing that irritates King Charles, it is commentators suggesting he is merely a caretaker until his heir, Prince William, takes over. Those close to the king assert that this is demonstrably wrong. This month, there was renewed discussion about the prospect of Charles abdicating in favor of his eldest son in Britain, prompted by the recent change of throne in Denmark, which saw Queen Margrethe II retire and be succeeded by her son, the new King Frederik X, and his wife, Queen Mary.

Princess Anne has been quoted in a new royal biography claiming that the new monarch bristles at the suggestion he is acting as a caretaker until Prince William can take over. As for William, he has said little himself about the prospect of becoming king and when exactly that might be. However, his major plans for the royal family could meet with some serious resistance from senior members, as he is believed to be keen on slimming down the working monarchy, a process his father began after Queen Elizabeth II’s death at age 96.

Charles succeeded the throne in September 2022. At that time, some members of the British public believed the throne should have bypassed him and gone to William, who was more popular. Four months before Queen Elizabeth’s death, a YouGov poll found that 57% of Brits thought Charles would do a good job as king, compared to 77% for William. Additionally, 37% said that William should succeed his grandmother, while 34% said it should be Charles.

Princess Anne takes a pragmatic view on this subject, stating that taking on the crown later in life has inherent benefits, such as more experience and developed opinions. Queen Camilla’s sister, Annabel Elliot, agreed, dismissing the idea that Charles is merely a caretaker, stating that people will see quite a few changes when William and Catherine become king and queen. It is likely that the number of working royals will be further reduced, with only Prince George seemingly guaranteed for royal duties.

William sees the small European monarchies as a model for the future and has expressed his desire to modernize and keep the royal family relevant. He explained in an interview marking Queen Elizabeth II’s 90th birthday that the royal family must adapt and stay relevant for the future, whether it’s 20, 40, or 60 years from now.

However, Princess Anne is not thought to be happy with the idea of a slimmed-down monarchy. She previously criticized this idea during an interview with CBC, questioning its practicality given the departures of Prince Harry and Prince Andrew from working royal life. With only Prince Edward and Sophie, Duchess of Edinburgh, as the remaining working royals under the age of 70, she suggested that reducing the number of working royals might not be practical.

When it comes to King Charles, Anne added that he has been practicing for a long time, and people know what to expect from him. She emphasized his commitment to service and his determination to continue his work without significant changes.
