Kensington Palace’s MAJOR UPDATE On Catherine’s New Addition To Their Team Amid Her Return

What we’re most looking forward to: The Princess of Wales, Katherine, has confirmed she’ll be returning to royal duties soon. She has shown continued support for mental health initiatives alongside her husband, Prince William. At this point, the Waleses are looking for a new adviser, specifically a new Assistant Private Secretary, to join their team at Kensington Palace. According to the job specification, the role will include organizing the couple’s engagements in Wales, Scotland, and Northern Ireland. The candidate will be expected to bring specific expertise in Welsh communities, affairs, government, and business, as well as support the development of strategy for the couple within their roles as the Prince and Princess of Wales.

The Princess’s work, as she continues her recovery following Trooping the Colour and Wimbledon appearances, will likely include only her early childhood initiatives. She may not have the energy to absorb everything and is likely opting not to take on a lot at the moment. Catherine, who is still undergoing preventative chemotherapy after announcing her cancer diagnosis in March 2024, is leaning towards a “do one thing well” approach. She is a future Queen, after all. The 42-year-old might make occasional appearances for other royal causes, such as William’s Earthshot Prize Awards.

The candidate will also play a key role in delivering these engagements. The ideal applicant will work alongside other private secretaries, communications secretaries, the visits and events team, and the diary manager to identify, shape, and deliver opportunities. They will also be expected to provide written advice to the couple and senior household officials and to offer sound judgments on proposals received. Although the new hire will be responsible for their public engagements in Wales, Scotland, and Northern Ireland, the couple wants their new Assistant Private Secretary to specifically focus on Wales and believe it is essential that they speak conversational Welsh.

For the personal specifications, the pair are looking for a candidate who is a supportive team player, has a high level of personal resilience, and has excellent communication skills. A report from a royal source told the publication that William had begun learning Welsh and wanted to deepen the trust and respect of the people of Wales over time. It is understood that he and Catherine want to support Welsh language and culture in their own way and not follow the customs set out by older generations of the Royal Family.

Sharing an emotional social media statement on June 14, 2024, she admitted to experiencing both good and bad days, adding that she’s not out of the woods yet and takes each day as it comes. The rest of Catherine’s calendar isn’t likely to be filled with only early childhood work. She is expected to attend the November 2024 ceremony in Cape Town, South Africa. The weather will be lovely, and it is not a difficult journey there. If she goes, she might take a bit of a holiday, as the time difference is just an hour.

Then there’s Catherine’s Together at Christmas Carol Service, which has become an annual event since debuting in 2021. It is likely she may be much better by then and could participate in the televised Westminster Abbey service. Months after learning of Katherine’s abdominal surgery and subsequent cancer diagnosis, royal watchers had resigned themselves to life without the Princess of Wales. Her royal return was speculated but not confirmed, so while there was hope, uncertainty remained.

Now, after a stunning victory lap during Trooping the Colour and Wimbledon, she is expected to keep the appearance train in motion. While no one is pushing Catherine to do anything but recover, she feels a lot of pressure to get back to her duties and be even more perfect than before. She is taking time to heal, but caring for her kids, being a good spouse to William, and her responsibility to her work are weighing heavily on her. She doesn’t want the world to see her like this and doesn’t want to delay getting back to work as a royal any more.
