However, regarding Middleton’s duties to her country, her role within the government is reportedly up in the air. A source told the outlet that Princess Katherine might never return to the role that people saw her in before.

The insider added that she’s currently reconsidering what she will be able to take on when she returns after undergoing preventative chemotherapy following an undisclosed disease diagnosis.

Additionally, royal pundit Richard Fitzwilliams noted that once Princess Catherine returns to her duties, it will be based on medical advice and will be carefully adjusted.

The report comes just weeks after a source claimed that Middleton may not appear publicly as a working royal for the rest of the year as the princess continues to focus on her health away from public scrutiny.

Her significant other has been filling in for his ailing father in France for the 80th anniversary of the historic D-Day landings. On Thursday, William led the memorial D-Day function at Juno Beach in Normandy, where he met with Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and French Prime Minister Gabriel Attal.

Typically, the king would be expected to attend the significant events of the day, but as Charles is continuing his disease treatment, his son and main heir to the throne is stepping in for him.
