King Charles sign new document giving princess Charlotte & Anne new royal tittles// Camilla is angry

When Prince William ascends to the throne, there will be significant changes within his close family. Kate Middleton will be named Queen, and Prince George will move up in the line of succession to a lofty position. Princess Charlotte will eventually become the Princess Royal. However, Charlotte will not immediately assume the title of the Princess Royal since it is currently held by another family member. The title of Princess Royal is traditionally bestowed upon the eldest daughter of the monarch, as explained by Duncan Larcombe to Town & Country magazine.

Currently, Princess Anne, Queen Elizabeth II’s eldest daughter, holds the title of Princess Royal. This title remains for life, so Princess Charlotte will have to wait until the passing of Princess Anne before potentially receiving the title. Even after Princess Anne’s passing, there is no guarantee that the title change will happen automatically; it will depend on Prince William’s decision if and when Charlotte receives the title.

Historically, Princess Anne had to wait until 1987 before her mother, the Queen, bestowed the title of Princess Royal upon her, even though the title had been vacant since around 1965. The title previously belonged to Princess Mary, the oldest daughter of King George V and Queen Mary, who held the title from 1932 to 1965.

At the moment, Princess Charlotte is only three years old and may not fully understand the responsibilities that come with such a title. However, once she learns about the duties of a Princess Royal, she may not be in a rush to receive it.

There are strict rules for dating the Princess Royal under Old English law, with severe consequences for any man who lays with her before marriage. Therefore, Charlotte’s future suitors may need to be cautious.

It is likely that Prince William and Kate will wait until after Charlotte marries before giving her the title. Additionally, she may also receive the title Duchess of Edinburgh due to a request from the late Prince Philip.

In summary, Princess Charlotte will have to wait until Princess Anne passes away and her father, Prince William, becomes the monarch before potentially receiving the title of Princess Royal. Until then, there may be changes in the titles and positions within the royal family, depending on various factors such as the passing of current monarchs and the decisions of the royal family members.
