Kate Middleton and William secretly preparing prince George as the next king without Charles permisn

Despite the fact that Prince George is still a tween, Kate Middleton and Prince William reportedly have a strategy in place to prepare him for his future duties as king. According to an imperial expert, the 11-year-old prince has begun preparing for the day he ascends to the lofty position of king with a gradual approach.

Kate and William, as involved parents, are gradually introducing their eldest child to royal commitments and press events. They are careful not to overwhelm him. Royal author Robert Jobson recently spoke with *Us Weekly* in an interview promoting his book *Catherine: The Princess of Wales*. He noted that, in addition to introducing George to public situations, his parents have encouraged the young royal to spend more time with his grandfather, King Charles, to gain special insight into the role of a monarch.

Jobson told the publication, “I think it was very important that he played that role as a page boy at the King’s coronation. He got a real sense of the grandeur and all of the anticipation from it. I thought that was actually quite significant for George.”

The expert also mentioned that Prince William is likely drawing from his own childhood experiences to prepare George for his future role, without overwhelming him. “George doesn’t necessarily get scared if he spends more time with his grandfather, who is actually doing the work,” Jobson added.

According to a royal expert who recently spoke with *Hello!* magazine, this gradual approach has reportedly received approval from Kate. The Princess of Wales has made it clear that she has her own methodology when it comes to raising her children. She made it very clear to both the late Queen Elizabeth and to the then Prince of Wales (now King Charles) that she wouldn’t be rushed into doing things she wasn’t comfortable with.

“It took a lot for Kate to stand up to her fellow senior royals,” Jobson said. “That takes considerable courage because you’re in a very different world. But I think she understands that she only has one shot at this. She has three small children, and they need to come first.”

Prince George, Prince Louis, and Princess Charlotte were seen standing proudly before Prince William and Kate Middleton on Buckingham Palace’s balcony during the 2024 Trooping the Colour.

Kate Middleton reportedly had to set boundaries with her royal in-laws when it came to raising her children. Despite Prince William and Kate Middleton’s 2011 wedding going down in history as one of the most significant events ever—with everything from the wedding dress to the double kiss becoming iconic—there are still stories from that day that continue to emerge. One such moment happened at the reception.

In his new book, *Catherine: The Princess of Wales*, royal biographer Robert Jobson revealed that the now Prince and Princess of Wales surprised guests with an impromptu performance during their second reception, which took place in the Royal Chamber of Buckingham Palace and had 300 guests. This followed a larger reception hosted by Queen Elizabeth II, which had 650 attendees.

The newlyweds surprised their friends and family with an unexpected rendition of “You’re the One That I Want” from *Grease*. Jobson shared, “They stood holding hands on the dance floor, smiling, and then suddenly, the opening bars of the song ‘You’re the One That I Want’ from the musical *Grease* came blasting out. William and Catherine then began dancing around, pointing at each other and mouthing the words, much like the lead characters, Danny and Sandy. It brought down the house.”
