King Charles secret letter to princess Diana before she di€d just got exposed by Camilla amid divorc

In a deeply poignant letter written in December 1997, just months after the tragic death of Princess Diana, King Charles—then Prince Charles—expressed the profound sorrow and bewilderment he felt following her passing. The letter, addressed to a man named Peter Hoden, reveals Charles’s struggle to come to terms with the sudden loss of someone so young and beloved. This handwritten note sheds light on the emotional turmoil he experienced in the aftermath of Diana’s death.

The letter, which was auctioned off for $2,000, was written on December 8, 1997, on Highgrove House letterhead. In it, Charles empathizes with Hoden, who was also grieving at the time, referring to someone named Liz as a “life enhancer.” He shared his own feelings of heartbreak and described the “unbearable emptiness” that accompanied the loss of Diana, who had died in a car accident in Paris on August 31, 1997. Diana was only 36 years old when she passed away, leaving behind her sons, Prince William and Prince Harry, who were just 15 and 12 at the time.

In the letter, Charles also touches on his Christian faith and beliefs about life after death. He referenced a biblical passage about seeing “through a glass, darkly” but held onto the conviction that there is another dimension beyond this physical life. He expressed hope that those who have passed on, including Diana, had entered a different, possibly better realm.

The letter was accompanied by its original envelope and included specific instructions from Charles for it to be delivered by hand, highlighting the personal and sensitive nature of his message. The sale of this letter was handled by Boston-based RR Auction, which noted the length and emotional depth of Charles’s words, particularly in the context of his grief for Diana.

Princess Diana’s influence and legacy continue to be felt worldwide. On August 15th, Prince Harry, Diana’s younger son, visited Colombia with his wife, Meghan Markle. During a breakfast meeting with the country’s Vice President, Francia Márquez, and her husband, Márquez expressed her admiration for Diana. She recalled how Diana had planned to visit Colombia shortly before her death, and she viewed Harry’s visit as a fulfillment of that dream, highlighting the ongoing connection between Diana’s memory and the places and people she touched.

This letter from Charles offers a rare and intimate glimpse into the personal grief of a man who not only lost his former wife but also witnessed the impact of that loss on his family and the world.
