Prince William gives updates on Kate Middleton cancer treatment after second operation

According to a Kensington Palace representative, the rumor that Kate Middleton is receiving treatment at the MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston is false. Since the Princess announced in March that she had been diagnosed with cancer, speculation about her whereabouts has grown. She started protective chemotherapy in February, with no estimated date for her return to public duties.

In June, a palace insider told US Weekly that Middleton might never come back in the role that people saw her in before. Middleton stepped away from public duties, and on Monday morning, Amanda Mat posted a video to her TikTok account, MaoreoforFact, which focuses on the royal family. In the video, she discussed a Reddit post claiming Middleton recently stayed at the St. Regis Houston. The post read that Middleton was visiting companions at the St. Regis this weekend and that she might be there for treatment.

Mat said in her video, “I think this theory about Kate and her whereabouts makes a lot of sense when you stop to think about it.” She added that she had heard similar stories placing Middleton in Houston. Two months ago, Middleton recorded a video explaining candidly that she has cancer, is undergoing preventative chemotherapy, and assured the public, “I am well and getting stronger every day.”

However, that reprieve is proving brief, and speculation about her health is ramping up again. Various news reports have offered different timelines for how long England’s beloved royal will stay out of the public eye, ranging from all of June through autumn to the end of the year. There’s no word, for instance, on whether Kate will attend the Wimbledon Tennis Championships starting July 1st. Kate, a devoted tennis fan who supports the All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club, typically attends major matches of the tournament, always in impeccable attire, and presents trophies to the winners. Her possible absence from Wimbledon 2024 has fueled some speculation about her health. One person wrote on X (formerly Twitter), “I’ve said for a while that if Kate misses Wimbledon in July then there is something very serious going on.”

While this person may be attempting to make a grim prediction regarding Kate’s condition, it could also be said that any kind of cancer is serious, and Kate, her husband Prince William, and the rest of her family are clearly taking her recovery very seriously. Within this context, it was widely reported that she missed a significant event last weekend—a practice for this coming weekend’s Trooping the Colour. As the new honorary Colonel of the Irish Guards, the 42-year-old mother of three was invited to attend the practice but instead sent a letter apologizing for her nonattendance. Although she didn’t show up for the rehearsal, the palace hasn’t confirmed if she’ll be at Trooping the Colour on Saturday. This is the official celebration of the British monarch’s birthday, culminating in the King’s Birthday Parade through the streets of London and members of the royal family appearing together on the balcony at Buckingham Palace.

The Daily Beast reported that Buckingham Palace hinted she wouldn’t take part in the upcoming state visit of the Emperor and Empress of Japan from June 25 to 27. Newsweek reported that a news release only mentioned that Prince William would welcome the royal couple at their hotel in London before attending a welcome ceremony with them at Buckingham Palace.

The public’s outpouring of support and well-wishes for Princess Catherine has been overwhelming, with messages of encouragement flooding social media platforms. The anticipation surrounding her return reflects the deep admiration and respect the Princess holds in the hearts of many. Earlier this week, experts suggested that Princess Catherine might gradually resume her royal duties, starting with smaller engagements before fully immersing herself back into public life.

Throughout her treatment, Catherine has leaned heavily on her close-knit family. The mother of three has prioritized space and time for privacy, but she has also devoted time to caring for her children during their midterm break. Catherine has been frequently seen walking or cycling with Prince William and their children around the area near their home. These outings, while rare, have offered a glimpse into the Princess’s current state of health.

Recent images of Princess Catherine suggest that her health is improving significantly, and there is hope that she will resume her royal duties. Her visible recovery has brought a sense of relief and optimism to her well-wishers and supporters. However, officials have emphasized that these outings should not be mistaken as a definitive indication of her health status. They caution that Princess Catherine still requires time and space to fully recover from her illness, and the public is urged to respect her need for privacy during this critical period of her recuperation.
