After months out of the public eye, leaving the people of the UK and her global followers uncertain about her health, Katherine Middleton reappeared in a heartwarming family video released earlier this week. The statement was accompanied by an emotional video filmed at Amner Hall, their Norfolk retreat, where the family has clung to normality during this difficult time.

Amner Hall is a country house built in 1802, featuring 10 rooms spread across three floors and covering 20,000 acres. In the video, the family is seen enjoying long walks through the wheat fields and forests surrounding the estate, located just a 5-minute drive from Sandringham.

Thanks to this recent publication, we were given a glimpse inside their home, revealing a bright, cozy environment. Large windows allow natural light to flood the space, while the decor reflects a country style. One wall, painted a warm dark yellow, displays decorative plates, while rustic furnishings showcase framed family photographs and house plants. The dining room offers a welcoming bohemian vibe, with tropical plants, scalloped lampshades, and chic cream curtains.

As the family shares competitive laughter over a card game, Katherine and William’s collection of trinkets can be seen on a console table in the background. Family photographs, wicker baskets, artsy vases, and ornate plates add character to the space. Amner Hall also features luxurious amenities, including a swimming pool, tennis court, and a winter garden, as well as a contemporary kitchen.

Amner Hall was a wedding gift from Queen Elizabeth II in 2011. In 2015, the couple undertook a major renovation, costing over $1 million to suit their family needs. Royal renovations, however, don’t come cheap, and much of the housework for royal family members like King Charles and the Prince and Princess of Wales comes from the Sovereign Grant. William and Katherine also spent £4.5 million renovating their Kensington Palace home, which they moved into in 2011, paying privately for a second family kitchen, while the main kitchen is used for official events.

Though they now officially reside in Windsor, the Prince and Princess of Wales continue to return to Amner Hall, a place that symbolizes the beginning of their life as a family and has become a significant retreat in their personal journey.

Meanwhile, Katherine’s parents, Carole and Michael Middleton, co-own a stunning countryside mansion in Berkshire, where they raised Katherine and her younger siblings, Pippa and James. Their £4.7 million childhood home is impressive in its own right. Carole Middleton has a particular fondness for her country-chic kitchen, which she described as the heart of the house.
