Princess Charlotte tipped to match with mum Kate as potential appearance looms

Princess Charlotte has been tipped to match her mother Princess Kate by a fashion expert, as their potential appearance looms.

The Princess of Wales, 42, did not attend the official rehearsal for Trooping the Colour on June 8, however, the Palace has not ruled out an official appearance from Kate at the monarch’s birthday parade this weekend.

Kensington Palace has also not confirmed whether or not the Wales children, Prince George, 10, Princess Charlotte, nine, or Prince Louis, six, will be present on the Buckingham Palace balcony.

Trooping the Colour, the official celebratory parade to mark the monarch’s birthday, will take place on Saturday, June 15.

King Charles, 75, and Queen Camilla, 76, will lead the Royal Family in a horsedrawn carriage down the Mall before appearing on the Buckingham Palace balcony.

Prince William, 41, will most likely be present as the heir to the throne.

However, Kate has been recuperating in private ever since she announced her battle with cancer earlier this year.

If the Princess of Wales does appear at Trooping the Colour this Saturday, it would be her first official public appearance in 2024.

Susie Nelson, a fashion expert and owner of the vintage couture boutique, Modes & More, spoke exclusively to GB News to suggest potential style choices for Kate and her daughter, Princess Charlotte, should they attend the monarch’s birthday parade.

She said: “Charlotte will probably wear a dress in red, white or blue or a combination of these colours, as she did last year with the white sailor dress and colour trim.

“Catherine, should she attend, will be in something comfortable.

“Last year it was the stunning emerald suit by designer Andrew Gn and hat by Philip Treacy.

“This year, it could again be green (she is the Regimental Colonel of the Irish Guards) or a patriotic, red, white and blue combination.”

Nelson also explained whether or not Prince Louis would wear trousers or shorts, the latter of which is more popular among aristocratic boys below the age of eight.

She added: “There is the royal and aristocratic tradition that young boys should wear shorts until they are eight years old.

“However, Louis has been spotted out and about in long trousers. As this is a traditional event, it may well be shorts.”

Queen Camilla donned a red military-style outfit at Trooping the Colour last year

The style expert also suggested potential outfit choices for Queen Camilla.

Nelson continued: “She won’t want to upstage Charles, but still needs to be noticed.

“Last year, she went for a military style and this year it could be something in patriotic colours, no doubt having conferred with Catherine’s team so there isn’t a balcony of the same colours.”
