William Just Breaks Silence On King Charles’ Big Plan, Final Decision About Their Children To Make

In the heart of the British countryside lies a place that has become more than just a home for Prince William and Princess Catherine — it’s a sanctuary. The Waleses are said to be house hunting within the Royal residential portfolio, but the future King and Queen will certainly skip one certain home. The Prince and Princess of Wales already call Adelaide Cottage in Windsor and Amner Hall in Norfolk home, with a massive Kensington Palace apartment serving as their official Royal base.

Although Adelaide Cottage provides the perfect location thanks to its proximity to Lambrook School, where Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis attend, and with the trio continuing to grow up, Their Royal Highnesses are looking at plans to extend the current empty annex to allow for more space. Per an insider, the Wales family is hiding a not-so-little secret behind their winter home — an abandoned, dilapidated annex building, thought to be worth around £1 million in its current state. This building could provide a solution to their spatial needs.

If the Wales family decides to renovate the property, it will give them plenty of space and take them off the consideration list for the Royal Lodge. Renovations and excess space are said to have deterred the millennial royals from moving into the mansion. They absolutely adore Adelaide Cottage, but it just about fits the entire family, whereas Amner Hall is much larger with extensive grounds. Adelaide Cottage is being used as a term-time property while the children are at school nearby, and Amner Hall is reserved for long weekends and holidays.

The plans are said to include the restoration of a rundown red-brick annex near the cottage, which will serve as both a retreat for the Queen-in-waiting and their staff. This decision, however, is not without complications. A source explains that the Prince of Wales is conscious of public scrutiny over royal spending and is taking a measured approach to personally cover the costs. The source adds that the plans for renovation of the property have been quietly simmering in the background, and now that the Princess of Wales is on the road to recovery, the Wales family is waiting for the right time to initiate them.

According to media outlets that have published this information in the last few hours, it seems this controversy is not going away. King Charles III has apparently changed his mind, not about evicting his brother from the exclusive residence, but rather about what to do with it. There was talk that Catherine and William would move into the Royal Lodge, but there are now questions about what will happen with the house. A friend of William’s shared that one of the main reasons the Wales family is so content at Adelaide Cottage, their current home in Great Windsor Park, is because it’s a family house with no live-in staff. Moving into the vast Royal Lodge would mean accommodating domestic staff, something they have long resisted.

That leaves Frogmore Cottage as another option. The house has been vacant for over a year since the King asked Prince Harry and Meghan Markle to vacate the residence. Some analysts speculate that the future King and Queen are vehemently opposed to moving there due to their part in the long-running rift with Team Sussex. Harry and Meghan imagined Frogmore would always be available to them, even if they returned to the UK for a few weeks each year. That assumption reflects just how out of touch King Charles and his son have become.

“I can’t imagine Catherine wanting to move into that place that was designed and redone by Meghan, and not William either,” the source said. Meanwhile, as previously reported, the former Prince of Wales recently dismissed Andrew’s security team from the sprawling mansion. They are all working their final weeks until the end of October. If and when Andrew does move, it will simply be because he doesn’t have the funds to heat the Royal Lodge or keep the lights on.

Despite King Charles’ efforts to reallocate royal residences and streamline the monarchy, Andrew appears determined to stay put.
