Kate Middleton parents stop by Royal Palace to check out on their daughter as she completes cancer

After completing her cancer treatment, Kate Middleton has received a hopeful update from a relative. Sophie Winkleman, known as Lady Frederick Windsor, shared her thoughts on Kate’s well-being, stating, “Middleton is wonderful.” In a recent interview with *Hello!* magazine, Winkleman expressed how encouraging it was to see Kate looking as beautiful as ever at Wimbledon. She praised Kate’s incredible bravery and emphasized that she is doing well.

Winkleman also touched on King Charles, Kate’s husband, who announced his own cancer diagnosis earlier this year. She described him as “like a rock,” noting that “duty and service run through him.” Winkleman revealed that King Charles’s loved ones want him to take a break, but he remains focused on fighting cancer without missing a day of his royal responsibilities, describing him as a tremendous role model.

Despite largely avoiding the spotlight, Princess Catherine has only attended two public events in 2024. Her loved ones have been providing updates on her health journey, including notable appearances at Wimbledon and Trooping the Colour. Recently, Kate’s brother, James Middleton, spoke on the *Today Show* about her condition, saying, “She is doing fine. I can’t tell how things are going on her behalf, but she is receiving the appropriate amount of attention and support. Processing it takes time, just like anything else.”

Kate reflected on her experiences during a voiceover in a montage that featured her, Prince William, and their children, Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis. She expressed relief at having completed her chemotherapy treatment, saying, “For our family, the last nine months have been extremely difficult.”

In addition to health updates, details about Kate and William’s college romance have come to light in a recent biography by author Robert Jobson. He revealed that their relationship, which began in 2003, was an open secret among St. Andrews students, despite not being publicly confirmed until 2005.

Jobson recounted an awkward moment during William’s first semester at St. Andrews, where a fellow student, Massie Burch, jokingly said, “I’ve never dated two people in this room,” fully aware that Kate was seated next to William, the only one who had dated two people in that group.

William and Kate first met in 2001 and became friends, eventually moving in together with other housemates the following year. Fans of *The Crown* are familiar with the story of how William fell for Kate after watching her walk in a charity fashion show. Jobson noted that during their time at university, the couple often walked or cycled to lectures, shopped at a local supermarket, and enjoyed quiet evenings at home listening to William’s R&B tracks.

In their official engagement interview, William shared, “We moved in together as friends. We lived with a couple of others as well, and it just sort of blossomed from there.”
