Vanderpump Rules’ Katie Maloney is dating rocker Nick Martin – but pals worry he’s ‘just like her ex Tom Schwartz’
VANDERPUMP Rules star Katie Maloney is officially off-the-market as The U.S. Sun can confirm she is dating Sleeping with Sirens guitarist Nick Martin.
The rockin’ romance marks Katie’s first public relationship since her divorce from ex Tom Schwartz.
Though she was secretive about the identity of her boyfriend, Katie, 37, announced on this week’s episode of her podcast, Disrespectfully, that she had a new man in her life.
She appeared giddy as she opened up about her happy news to friend and podcast co-host, Dayna Kathan, on the same day as ex Schwartz’s 42nd birthday.
While Katie didn’t name any names, a source close to the Vanderpump Rules star confirmed to The U.S. Sun that the lucky man is Sleeping with Sirens rocker, Nick, 41.
“He’s a cool guy and they are like best buds when they hang out, very comfortable with each other.
“They bond really deeply over music and have similar tastes, it’s been exciting for her. It’s still new, started over the Summer casually but they’re happy and appear to be all-in for now.”
Despite the strong connection, the insider claimed that friends have also raised some concerns due to Nick’s rockstar lifestyle on the road, as well as more unflattering allegations from his past.
“Her friends have questions and concerns. He’s a touring musician so that will raise problems eventually.
“Some questionable decisions he’s made in the past have also made her friends compare him to Tom Schwartz.
“They love Katie and they just want to make sure Katie isn’t dating a Schwartz 2.0. Everyone knows she deserves so much better than that.”
The source added that the Bravo star is “a smart woman, she’ll figure it out.”
Tom famously cheated on Katie throughout their entire 12-year relationship – both before and after getting married.
He was also constantly shown by Bravo cameras berating her and at one point on Vanderpump Rules, poured an alcoholic drink on top of her head.
After years of friends, family and fans encouraging the couple to end the toxic relationship, The U.S. Sun exclusively revealed their split in 2022.
Their divorce was finalized later that year and although they share no children together, they worked out a custody agreement to co-parent their fur babies.
Since becoming a single lady again, Katie has publicly dated both men and women but has not had a serious relationship until meeting Nick – who was also previously married.
Nick has been a guitarist and backing vocalist for Florida-based rock band Sleeping with Sirens since 2013.
ROCK AND ROLL
The emo-punk band, who credits Green Day, blink-182 and Linkin Park as some of their influences, are currently on tour.
After playing at When We Were Young festival in Vegas this weekend, the group is scheduled to perform at shows in Indonesia and Australia throughout November and December.
However, Nick is typically Los Angeles-based, where Katie also calls home.
Katie gushed about her romance with Nick on yesterday’s episode of her podcast.
“Yeah, I’m in love, everybody. Katie’s in love! Yeah, I’m really happy,” the reality star said while flashing a huge smile.
She gushed: “Earlier in this past week, I went to go see my boyfriend.
“He has to travel for work, so I went to go meet up with him and hang out with him and spend some time.
“And it was really amazing because I hadn’t seen him in a few weeks and just being able to spend some quality time and just be around him was just really necessary and really nice.”
She went on to describe him as the “most wonderful person” she’s “ever met.”
“He just makes me feel really special and he’s really special, and yeah, I’m just really, really happy.
“I love love,” she exclaimed while blushing.
Dayna offered her support, and said that her pal was “glowing” and she “loved” seeing her so happy.
Ex Tom, 42, has been in a relationship with social media influencer Sophia Skoro, 24, since earlier this year.
