Vanderpump Rules Fans Criticize Ariana Madix Over Past Interview of Her Shading Castmates Who “Walk Away” from “Conflict,” & Stating Walking Away Is “Unfair to Everybody Else”
Fans are slamming Ariana Madix as a past interview surfaces of her shading castmates who “walk away” from “conflict.” At the time, Ariana expressed that the Vanderpump Rules cast is in a “different situation” than “real life,” and walking away from filming is “unfair to everybody else.”
In the latest season of the show, castmates called out Ariana for walking away from a finale conversation withher ex Tom Sandoval, who cheated on her. They felt she could’ve done it for the sake of the show, given that they’re all on the same cast. But Ariana was adamant that she made the right decision.
In a 2019 interview for the Scheananigans podcast, Ariana addressed castmates’ decision to walk away from conflict.
“We are, you know, all part of this show, and you know in normal life you might be able to walk away from a conflict with your friends because you don’t wanna get in a fight or whatever,” she said, via @breakingtherulespodclips on Instagram, seemingly alluding to Lala Kent. “We’re in a different situation.”
“We’re forced to talk about things that we maybe would avoid in real life … but it’s real feelings and that’s what makes us deal with our s**t and with each other,” she stated. “So when you just kind of like walk away from a situation and like take your mic off, I feel like it’s unfair to everybody else.”
Ariana claimed this isn’t fair “because we all have to talk about things we’re uncomfortable with” and have “conversations we probably don’t want to have.”
“But we don’t rip our mic off and walk away,” she said. “And nobody can dismiss anybody else, because you’re not in charge. So you can’t. You’re not my teacher. You can’t dismiss me or anyone else.”
Fans then responded in the comments.
“Funny how for Ariana [the current situation is] ‘different’. She chose to stay on for the new season, she could have walked away. She didn’t. So she is in the game,” wrote one viewer.
“Well, this certainly didn’t age [well] did it?” said another.
“I’m so tired of Ariana,” expressed a different fan.
“There is so much hypocrisy in this show. There have been multiple cheating scandals on vpr,” said one user.
“The Ariana stans who go off every single time a word is spoken about Ariana that isn’t 100% complimentary, get over yourself,” shared another. “She’s a human being with flaws, just like everyone else. I really hope she decides to leave the show if there’s another season, more because I’m tired of listening to her fan base fawn all over her and speak like they know her personally.”
