Vanderpump Rules’ Lisa takes ‘swipe’ at Tom Sandoval as fans think she ‘took over’ his bar in ruthless Pride Month move
LISA Vanderpump has turned heads with a hilarious and thinly veiled chess move against Tom Sandoval and Tom Schwartz.
The Vanderpump Rules star covered the TomTom Bar sign in West Hollywood with rainbow flags to kick off Pride Month in shade.
Lisa, it would seem, made it impossible to recognize the TomTom bar – partly owned by Sandoval and Tom Schwartz.
On June 2, onlookers were stunned to see that the famed bar sign – Lisa helped open the venue and is still the boss – was gone.
Where the TomTom sign would typically be was instead covered completely by rainbow flags.
Fans took to social media, sharing snaps of the cover-up, thinking that Lisa was clearly behind this and wants to take it over from them.
‘SHE MEANT TO DO THAT’
“I’m at #Pride in La, and just walked by PUMP. TomTom is hilariously covered with banners !! LVP totally meant to do that,” one X user wrote.
“It is the beginning of the end of Tom Tom. I think that will be all Pump by end of the year,” wrote another.
“LVP is ruthless,” joked a third.
“Wow, Vanderpump covered the TomTom logo for pride,” remarked a fourth.
Lisa’s iconic restaurant Pump was located a few doors down from TomTom; it closed a couple of years ago.
However, with a large stake in the business, she put up the Pump sign next to the bar for no reason.
Both Toms said on the show that neither of them knew about the sign being put up and they weren’t happy with it.
BAD FOR BUSINESS
After the Scandoval news broke regarding Tom’s cheating, Lisa didn’t mince words about the impact on TomTom’s business.
“We talk a lot about that,’ she told Us Weekly in January.
“There’s a lot of backlash, and I don’t [quite] think the punishment fits the crime when it’s the whole world against you.”
After news broke that Tom cheated on Ariana Madix in March 2023, angry fans wrote negative reviews and urged people to avoid either bars.
At the time, Tom begged fans not to attack his loved ones in a statement.
“Hey, I fully understand and deserve ur anger & disappointment towards me, but please leave [Tom] Schwartz, my friends, and family out of this situation…” he wrote.
Tom then clarified that Schwartz, his longtime BFF and business partner, had only learned of his infidelity “very recently” and “did not condone” his behavior.
“This was a very personal thing. Also, Schwartz & Sandy’s might have my name on it, but also there are 3 other partners and 20 employees, who especially rely on the restaurant for income for them and their families,” Tom said, referring to his new bar and TomTom, which debuted in 2018.
He apologized to his partners and said “sorry for everything.”
‘LISA WANTS THEM OUT’
Fans recently took to Reddit theorizing that Lisa is clearly trying to take over the bar with Pump sadly no longer.
“I think low key Lisa and Ken offered the Tom’s their money back because they really wanted to cut ties with them and fully own the restaurant,” one fan posted.
“I think Lisa and Ken are tightening up the ship and trimming out the fat. We’ll see if Pandy’s hubby survives the deep clean,” wrote another.
“I agree that she wants them out now,” wrote a third.
“I think she wanted out once she saw Scamdoval bleeding money. She’s a smart businesswoman but I also think she saw that they were really sinking – wanted to give them an out because I don’t see S&S’s making it.
“They’re already under,” they added.
