Meghan Markle and Princess Kate have a key trait in common

While they are not believed to be on speaking terms, there is one trait that Meghan Markle still shares with Princess Kate.

While it is no secret Princess Kate and Meghan Markle are not the best of friends, the pair both have one trait in common.

In addition to being married to princes, it appears Kate and Meghan have the same priority in life: their children.

Princess Kate has made this clear numerous times as she has tried to give Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis as normal an upbringing as possible.

Whether she is cooking them homemade dinners, watching school football matches or bouncing around with them on the trampoline, royal fans know just what a devoted mum the princess is.

This has also been proved by her unwillingness to accompany her husband, Prince William, overseas on occasion for royal work, instead opting to stay at home with the children.

Last year, William flew to Singapore alone for the Earthshot Awards as Kate stayed home with the children. This is because George was undergoing school exams at the time, and the princess wanted to be there to support him.

A similar decision was made by Kate in 2022 on the day of the late Queen’s passing.

The princess did not fly up to Balmoral with the rest of the family as her children were just days into life at their new Windsor school, and Kate wanted to be there in person to support them.

When it comes to Meghan Markle, it is also clear that her children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, are the centre of her world, and that is why she doesn’t always accompany Prince Harry on his charity work.

Meghan and Kate both prioritise their children.

Last month, Harry set off on a number of solo engagements in New York City, the UK and Africa, with the tour finishing earlier this month. Meghan was not by her husband’s side as she wanted to stay at home with the children.

A friend close to the couple said “parenting priorities” are why she was not with her husband.

At a bookstore event earlier this year in Summerland, the 43-year-old also apologised for leaving an event early and explained exactly why this was. According to Town and Country magazine, as she was leaving, Meghan told the attendees: “I’ve got to make dinner for the kids.”

While it appears the sisters-in-law have their differences, it is clear that the pair are both dotting mums and would do anything for their children.
