Expert predicts when the royals will be back to ‘fighting fit’ after triple cancer scare

With the three cancer scares in the family, one royal expert has predicted when we can expect to see the royals back to “full fighting strength”.

The Royal Family will hopefully be back to full fighting health by the “end of the year”, one royal expert has predicted.

As well as King Charles and the Princess of Wales’s earlier cancer diagnoses, Sarah Ferguson – who is Prince Andrew’s ex-wife – has experienced two of her own cancer diagnoses within the past year.

Sarah revealed last year that she had been diagnosed with breast cancer and had undergone a single mastectomy. Later, after a trip to a dermatologist to have moles removed, she was also diagnosed with skin cancer.

The King revealed back in February that he had been diagnosed with an undisclosed form of cancer. Just weeks later, on March 22, Princess Kate publicly revealed her own cancer diagnosis.

Speaking further on her hope that the family will be back to full health by the end of 2024, royal expert Jennie Bond added: “Of course, the summer break is coming up and I think that’s a good thing too.”

Speaking to OK!, Ms Bond also spoke of the King’s diagnosis and how Queen Camilla, herself, believes he is doing “too much too early in his recovery”.

Ms Bond said: “As Camilla herself said, the King has been constantly in danger of trying to do too much too early in his recovery.

“These six weeks of enforced rest [over summer] will give him the time he surely needs to gather his strength and make a full recovery before getting back to full-time duties.”

It was previously confirmed that the King would be slowly making a return to duties, although engagements will be “adapted where necessary”.

A Buckingham Palace representative said: “His Majesty’s medical team are very encouraged by the progress made so far and remain positive about the King’s continued recovery.

“Forthcoming engagements will be adapted where necessary to minimise any risks to His Majesty’s continued recovery.

“The pacing of the King’s programme will be carefully calibrated as his recovery continues, in close consultation with his medical team.”

The Royal Family’s engagements are currently at a halt due to the forthcoming general election, which is taking place at the start of July.

Following the news of a general election earlier this month, Buckingham Palace released a statement.

It read: “Following the Prime Minister’s statement this afternoon calling a general election, the Royal Family will – in accordance with normal procedure – postpone engagements that may appear to divert attention or distract from the election campaign.

“Their Majesties send their sincere apologies to any of those who may be affected as a result.”
